From the suburb of Oslo to stardom: Røssing-Lelesiit is dancing his way toward elite football
BUCHAREST, June 15, 2025 – In a tournament full of established names and emerging talents, there is something special about Norwegian forward Alexander Røssing-Lelesiit. Not only because of his obvious talent on the pitch, but also because of the energy he radiates both on and off the field. At such a young age, he made his UEFA European Under-19 Championship debut with determination and class that earned him a standing ovation from the crowd.
At just 18, the Norwegian is one of the youngest players to make his debut in this edition. Alexander not only showed personality, but he also scored a goal and assisted the second one for his teammate Granaas. Cheeky, fast and brave, the young winger is shaping up to be one of the great promises of this tournament.
When asked about the goal, his eyes light up.
“I kind of went in a flow state. I got the ball, and I know one-on-one, not many players can take me. So yeah, one-on-one against one. I have speed, so yeah. And then I shot the goal, so I’m happy with that”, Røssing-Lelesiit told AIPS Media.
THE BEGINNINGS The celebration was not a simple explosion of euphoria, but a meaningful gesture. Røssing-Lelesiit drew an “N” with his hands. A reminder of where it all began: Nittedal, a 20.000 population city that serves as a suburb of Oslo.
“Yeah, it was for the town I came from, so I dedicated it to the first club I played for”.
MUSIC FOR LIFE Alexandre’s game is built on speed, dribbling, and… rhythm, given the factthat music is accompanying every step of his preparation. For Røssing-Lelesiit, the minutes before a match are unthinkable without headphones. On his social media, it is common to see him dancing or humming songs that help him connect with his essence. Alexandre’s playlist is quite varied.
“It’s quite a mix, to be honest. Some Norwegian songs, English, and some Brazilian songs to get the Brazilian feeling in”, he said when asked about his pre-match routine.
Music is his refuge, his ritual, his way of concentrating his body and mind before the battle. And that mix, that cocktail of cultures and rhythms, seems to translate into his game: spontaneous, electric, and creative. In a scenario where many young people take refuge in caution, Røssing-Lelesiit chooses to be daring. His youth did not prevent him from facing challenges, taking risks, or shining. On the contrary, it is his driving force. He was one of the bravest on the pitch, showing personality, unpredictability, and admirable audacity.
With performances like this against England, Røssing-Lelesiit’s name will start to be heard by the best teams. The Hamburger SV striker, who has been on talks with AC Milan last January, will definitely be at the top of the European scouts’ list.
