AESF AND TESF SIGNED AN ASIAN ESPORTS GAMES COOPERATION AGREEMENT

Bangkok, Thailand-October7,2024–The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) and theThailand Esports Federation (TESF) signed a cooperation agreement lastFridayduring apreparatory meeting for the upcoming Asian Esports Games.The agreement was signed by AESFDirector General Mr. Sebastian Lau and TESF President Mr. Santi Lothong, in the presence ofMr.Nattapol Antarasen, Director of the Professional Sports Development Promotion Division, andofficials from the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT),at the 7thAnniversary ChalermprakiatBuilding, SAT, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The purpose of the agreement is to organize the Asian Esports Games, scheduled to be held inBangkok, Thailand, from 25 November to 3 December 2024. The event will be organized inaccordance with Olympic values, standards, and regulations.AESF will act as the sanctioningbody, while TESF will serve as the host and organizer, with support fromSAT and the NationalSports Development Fund of Thailand (NSDF).The event will bring together national teams fromAESF member associations across Asia to compete.
The agreement covers various aspects of event organization, including competition planning,venue selection, game title licensing, international technical officials, team invitations, andcomprehensive services for participating teams.Full coverage of flights, accommodation, andlogistical arrangements will be provided for participating teams.AESF willalsoserve as theTechnical Delegate, overseeing the selection and management of the International TechnicalOfficials (ITOs) and team invitations.
The competition will take place at Indoor Stadium Hua Mak, Bangkok, featuring confirmed gametitles such as Arena of Valor (AOV) for theopenteam event, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB)for the women’s team event, and an individual title event, which will be announced at a later date.The format will include a group stage, playoffs, and grand finals.A prize pool will be offered forthe champions, second place, and third place in all events.
During the meeting, Mr. Lau highlighted that AESF views this partnership as a positive initiativeby TESF, with the support of theSports Authority of Thailandand the National SportsDevelopment Fund of Thailand, to further promote esports growth in Asia. This collaborationreflects Thailand’s strong commitment to esports development, providing athletes from Asiancountries with opportunities to further participate in international esports competitions whilefostering unity, gender equality, and diversity. At least 35 countries and regions are expected toparticipate.
