Azerbaijani Sports Journalists Association wraps up 2025 Tukla Volleyball League
BAKU, June 25, 2025 – The Azerbaijani Sports Journalists Association (AIJA) has successfully organized the 2025 season of the Tukla Volleyball League in Baku. The tournament, now in its third year, brought together teams from across the country and was dedicated to AIJA’s 30th anniversary.
Six teams took part in the competition this year, including clubs from Masalli, Baku, Tukla, and Mahammadabad. The league format allowed every team to compete in the group stage with the top four qualifying for the semifinals.
What made the tournament special was the mix of participants. Players from professional clubs like Azerreyl, as well as coaches and national team members, joined forces with amateur players. This gave young and less-experienced players a chance to play alongside professionals and learn from them.
In the final match, Kidol (Tukla) won the championship by defeating Qartal (Masalli) with a score of 3-1. The third place went to Zefer (Baku), who beat Mahammadabad.
The Tukla Volleyball League is becoming an important part of the sports calendar in Azerbaijan. With the support of the Azerbaijani Sports Journalists Association, the league not only promotes volleyball but also helps build stronger connections between regions and gives more people the chance to take part in the sport.
