WADA Invites Global Stakeholders to Sixth World Conference on Doping in Sport in Busan
Busan, Korea, November 20,2025: The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has officially invited international stakeholders to participate in the sixth World Conference on Doping in Sport, scheduled to be held from 1 to 5 December 2025 in Busan, Republic of Korea. The event will take place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center and is being organized with the support of the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA) and the City of Busan.
The conference is expected to bring together athletes and approximately 1,500 representatives from the global sports movement, governments, national and regional anti-doping organizations, laboratories, researchers, service providers, and media. It will serve as a major platform for discussion on the World Anti-Doping Program, with a key focus on the approval of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards.
The update process for the 2027 Code began in September 2023, allowing stakeholders worldwide to contribute to strengthening the anti-doping framework. The proposed versions of the Code and Standards will be presented and endorsed during the conference, followed by final approval at a joint meeting of WADA’s Executive Committee and Foundation Board on 5 December.
The gathering will also review progress made since the Katowice Declaration of 2019, which urged all stakeholders to enhance cooperation, protect clean sport, increase resources for anti-doping efforts, and hold offenders accountable.
WADA President Witold Bańka said that preparations are in full swing with the hosts in Busan to ensure a productive and impactful conference.
