AIPS ASIA Executive Committee approved number of programs

Seoul, Korea. May 08,2023: The AIPS ASIA Executive Committee has approved a number of programs reiterating its commitment to the growth and development of sports journalism in Asia. The meeting of the executive committee was held under the chairmanship of the president of the association, He Don Jung. It was decided in the meeting that all possible steps will be taken to solve the problems faced by the sports journalists during the coverages of International events in Asia. The meeting also approved the establishment of the Education and Training Committee for Sports Journalists, while several decisions were also approved, including the holding of annual congresses for the next three years.

Establishment of committees:

AIPS Asia’s Education and Training Committee will be headed by Vice President Meizam Zamanabadi and four more members will be added to the committee. Abdullah Ibrahim of the United Arab Emirates will serve as the Chairman of the Membership Committee and in the future, the National Associations of Uzbekistan, Vietnam and other Asian countries will be part of AIPS Asia. Subodh Malla Barua of India as the Head of the Young Sports Reporters Training Program Committee will coordinate the organization of Young Sports Reporters Training Programs in various Asian countries.

AIPS ASIA Congresses:

The executive committee approved that the next AIPS ASIA Congress will be held in Korea in 2024, Hong Kong in 2025 and Saudi Arabia in 2026. The next AIPS Asia Executive Committee meeting will be held in Saudi Arabia later this year.

Awards:

The Executive Committee of AIPS ASIA approved the awarding of Legends of AIPS Asia Awards to three long-serving personalities of the association while five National Sports Associations were nominated for various awards. The awards ceremony will be held on May 9.
