Al Ahli’s Firmino eyeing perfect home campaign

AIPS ASIA News:

Jeddah: Roberto Firmino expects Al Ahli Saudi FC to maximise home ground advantage when they face Buriram United in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Elite™ Finals Jeddah 2025 on Saturday.

The Brazilian forward, who has been in fine form on the continental stage, said he is looking forward to powering Al Ahli’s bid for a first AFC Champions League Elite title.
“I’m so happy to be playing again and to be helping the team,” said the 33-year-old. “We’ve been preparing for this tournament and I’m looking to give my best and support my teammates to succeed further in this tournament.”
Firmino, who has tallied four goals and four assists in their continental campaign, said Al Ahli are determined to reach the semi-finals for a second time, with their only previous appearance coming in the 2012 edition.
Standing in their way are Buriram, who have defied expectations with their fearless approach but Firmino is confident that Al Ahli’s unbeaten record will remain intact.
“We know our opponents, who deserve every right to be here – just as much as we do. We have to respect them. But our goal is to reach the top. We want to win and to do it at home will be special.”
