Hamdallah wants more from Al Ittihad
Morocco’s Hamdallah scored both goals as reigning Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad shrugged off their recent indifferent form to maintain a firm grip on Group C, with a draw against Islamic Republic of Iran’s Sepahan FC next week enough to take them through to the Round of 16.
“I thank my teammates for their effort tonight. We play in a big club, and we hope to compete strongly in the AFC Champions League, where we want to continue to improve from match to another.
“Every coach has his own touch, and our new coach (Marcelo Gallardo) has shown that he is one of the great coaches, and we hope that we will improve even more through his leadership,” said Hamdallah, who has three goals to his credit this campaign.
Gallardo, in charge of Al Ittihad for only the second match, said the win over AGMK was important for the confidence of the squad.
“The team will improve from one match to the next and will be better in the future.”
