Kessie: Al Ahli ready for tough test
AIPS ASIA News:
Highlighting the familiarity between the two Saudi Pro League sides, the midfielder stressed the importance of Al Ahli maintaining a high level of concentration in their bid to lift the coveted trophy for the first time.
“It’s a different kind of game – we’re playing against an opponent we know very well,” said Kessie. “We are fully prepared for tomorrow’s match, especially with the support of our incredible fans.
“We are not thinking about the final. Right now, our only focus is on the semi-final. All our energy and attention are on tomorrow’s match.”

Al Ahli will head into the tie with an impressive record, having secured 10 wins from 11 matches, but the Ivorian said there will be no room for complacency.
“Both sides know each other very well. There are advantages and disadvantages for each team. The preparation will be very detailed and very focused,” said the 28-year-old.

Part of the Ivory Coast squad that won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as well as the La Liga and Spanish Super Cup title with Barcelona the same year, Kessie easily adapted to Al Ahli – attributing it to the support he received from the squad.
“Nothing has changed for me personally, I’m still the same player. Frank is still Frank. When I arrived, I worked hard to adapt myself to the team and its objectives.”
With the objective now being to win the AFC Champions League Elite title, Kessie will be determined to play his role.
