Shaikh Salman lauds IR Iran on sealing record fourth AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ triumph

Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President, has congratulated champions the Islamic Republic of Iran and finalists Oman for their outstanding displays at the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2025, which drew to a close on Sunday at the Jomtien Beach Arena in Pattaya.
The Islamic Republic of Iran secured a landmark fourth crown after defeating rivals Oman 8-1 in a riveting final to emerge as the most successful side in the history of the Continental showpiece.
Shaikh Salman said: “On behalf of the entire Asian football community, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Islamic Republic of Iran for their remarkable performances throughout the tournament and securing a record fourth title.
“We also commend Oman for their spirited display and exceptional teamwork. Both the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman Football Association merit high praise for their commitment to developing the game at every level.”
The Asian powerhouses will represent the Continent at the upcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025™, scheduled to be held from May 1 to 11 in Victoria, Mahé island, alongside Japan who defeated Saudi Arabia 3-1 in the third-place Playoff earlier in the day.
“We wish our two finalists and third-placed Japan the very best of success ahead of the global showpiece in the Seychelles and we are confident that they will emulate the success of our Asian teams who continue to shine on the world’s biggest stages,” added Shaikh Salman.
Furthermore, the AFC President expressed his gratitude to the Local Organising Committee and the Football Association of Thailand for their exceptional hosting of the competition for the third successive edition.
He added: “The Football Association of Thailand has answered the call to stage an exceptional competition for the third time and their commitment towards hosting numerous AFC competitions over the years is deeply appreciated and valued.
“Their efforts in organising world-class events are crucial for the development of our Asian teams and for elevating our collective standards, and we thank them for their unwavering support and belief in the AFC’s Vision and Mission.”
