The Asian Football Confederation announce the official launch of the Match Predictor contest

Kualaulmur, February 20, 2026: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is pleased to announce today the official launch of the Match Predictor contest for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™, marking the first time a predictor game has been introduced for an AFC women’s national team tournament, offering fans a unique way to engage with the competition. The game is free to play and available on the-AFC.com/wac_predictor and through the AFC LIVE App.

The Continent’s top 12 teams are bound for Australia to chase the ultimate prize at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™, and the new Match Predictor contest offers supporters from across the globe an interactive, skill-based platform to test their football knowledge throughout the tournament and win exclusive prizes.  The contest will run from February 20 to March 21, 2026, covering every stage of Asia’s premier women’s football event, from the opening Group Stage matches through to the Final in Australia.  Accessible via the AFC’s digital platforms and the AFC LIVE app, the Match Predictor allows participants to forecast the outcomes of all matches during the competition. Fans can earn points by correctly predicting results, with each accurate match prediction rewarded with 10 points.

To add further tactical depth, participants can also answer a bonus question by predicting the first team to score a goal, earning additional points. The Match Predictor will feature across all 27 matches, with predictions locked at the scheduled kick-off time of each fixture to maintain sporting integrity. Results will be processed shortly after the conclusion of each match, allowing fans to track their progress in near real time.  A key strategic feature of the game is the booster, which allows participants to double the points earned from a selected match. Boosters can be used once per Matchday during the Group Stage and once at every stage of the knockouts, except for the Final. In addition to individual competition, fans can engage socially through private leagues, creating or joining up to 20 leagues to compete with friends, family, and colleagues for bragging rights. Meanwhile, global participants will be ranked on an overall leaderboard, showcasing top performers from around the world and reinforcing the international reach of the tournament.

At the end of the competition, three overall winners will be crowned based on their cumulative points total across all matches. The top-ranked participant will receive a team-signed match ball and a signed jersey from their preferred team. The second-place finisher will receive a team-signed match ball from their preferred team, while the third-place finisher will receive a team-signed jersey from their preferred team. All prizes are subject to availability.
