Haikou, China – 14 July 2026: Pakistan continued their remarkable unbeaten campaign at the AVC Boys’ U18 Volleyball Championship 2026, defeating Thailand 3-0 in their third Pool C match at the Haikou Wuyuan River Gymnasium, Haikou, China.The championship, being held from 12 to 18 July 2026, has seen the young Green Shirts produce an outstanding series of performances. Pakistan completed the pool stage with three consecutive straight-set victories, defeating Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Thailand without dropping a single set.

Pakistan had already become the first team to secure qualification for the quarter-finals and today’s victory over Thailand further strengthened their position as one of the leading teams in the championship.

Pakistan Defeat Thailand in Straight Sets

Pakistan started the match with confidence and immediately established their attacking rhythm. Strong serving, disciplined blocking, and effective combinations at the net helped the Green Shirts take control of the opening set.

Thailand attempted to increase the pressure, but Pakistan maintained composure and closed the first set 25-19.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Pakistan displaying excellent court organization and consistency. The players maintained their defensive discipline while converting important attacking opportunities to claim another 25-19 set victory.

The third set proved to be the most competitive of the match. Thailand pushed Pakistan point-for-point and attempted to extend the contest. However, the young Green Shirts demonstrated tremendous composure in the decisive moments.

Pakistan held their nerve and secured the third set 25-23, completing another impressive 3-0 victory.

Three Matches, Three Victories and No Sets Lost

Pakistan’s victory over Thailand was once again built around a strong collective performance, with Fahad Ali, Muhammad Anas, and captain Muhammad Irfan producing particularly impressive displays.

Fahad Ali continued his excellent championship form with aggressive attacking play and consistent pressure on Thailand’s defense. His ability to deliver important points proved valuable throughout the contest.

Muhammad Anas played an influential role at the net, contributing through effective blocking and quick attacking combinations. His presence in the middle provided Pakistan with stability in both attack and defense.

Captain Muhammad Irfan once again led the team with maturity, determination, and confidence. His leadership proved especially important during the closely contested third set, where Pakistan remained composed under pressure to secure the victory.

The entire squad displayed excellent unity and fighting spirit, continuing the strong momentum established during the opening two matches.

Pakistan Await Quarter-Final Opponent

Pakistan will now compete in the quarter-finals on 16 July 2026 at the Haikou Wuyuan River Gymnasium – Court 1.

Pakistan will face the second-placed team from Pool A.

The quarter-final opponent will be decided following the match between hosts China and Chinese Taipei. The losing team from that encounter will finish second in Pool A and face Pakistan in the quarter-final.
