Hong Kong, China, July 3, 2025: The Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Husain Al Musallam, attended the 26th International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Asia Congress 2025 in Hong Kong, China on Wednesday, July 2.

Mr. Al Musallam, who is also President of World Aquatics, visited on a significant date, with July 2 being annually celebrated as World Sports Journalist Day by AIPS since 1994.

This day recognises the contribution of sports journalists worldwide and encourages them to continue their work effectively. It also highlights the role of sports journalism in promoting sports and fostering peace.

The AIPS Asia Congress, which began on June 30 and ends on Friday, July 4, is being attended by more than 100 media representatives from 30 countries and regions across Asia.

It is being held under the theme of the “15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China,” which will be staged later this year in Hong Kong, Guangdong, and Macau.
