HH Prince Fahad bin Jalawi Visits Athletes’ Village Ahead of Riyadh 2025 ISG Opening

Riyadh – (Media Centre ):The 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games – Riyadh 2025 is set to begin on Tuesday, 4 November, bringing together more than 3,000 male and female athletes representing 57 nations, who will compete across 23 sports and 2 demo sports hosted at five main venues across the Saudi capital. The Games will run from 7 to 27 November, with the opening ceremony scheduled for Friday at Al Janadriyah.

Opening Day: Futsal and Volleyball Take the Stage

The action begins on Tuesday, 4 November, with futsal at the Green Halls within the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Olympic Complex. The opening matchday features four matches: Saudi Arabia vs Uzbekistan, followed by Libya vs Azerbaijan, IR Iran vs Morocco, and finally Afghanistan vs Tajikistan. On the same day, volleyball matches will get underway at Boulevard Riyadh City, with Azerbaijan facing Tajikistan, and Türkiye meeting IR Iran, marking the official start of the Games’ competitions.

Athletes Continue Training Ahead of Kick-Off

Participating athletes have continued their training programmes in preparation for the start of competitions, as the organising committees work to ensure smooth operations and provide all necessary facilities to deliver an exceptional edition befitting the Kingdom’s sporting stature. The Athletes’ Village, located at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, offers a fully equipped training complex just five minutes’ walk from the accommodation area, ensuring athletes enjoy an optimal experience during their stay.

Five Venues Ready for Competition

All five main venues for the Games have been fully prepared to host events. The Prince Faisal bin Fahad Olympic Complex will stage handball, futsal, and swimming, while Boulevard Riyadh City will host e-Sport, table tennis, wrestling, weightlifting, para weightlifting, wushu, fencing, and volleyball. The Prince Faisal bin Fahad Sports City will feature athletics, para athletics, jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, and taekwondo, while the Sports Boulevard will stage 3×3 basketball, boxing, and muaythai.
Finally, Al Janadriyah will host the equestrian (show jumping), duathlon, and camel racing competitions, in addition to the Opening Ceremony.

His Highness Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games – Riyadh 2025, visited the Athletes’ Village at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, which serves as the residential hub for participating delegations. During the visit, HH toured the facilities, reviewed the operational plans of the working committees, and was briefed on the workflow during the Games. The visit reflected his commitment to providing an ideal environment for participating athletes and ensuring an exceptional edition that reaffirms Riyadh’s position as a global sports capital.
